Clearwater Resort, Christchurch, New Zealand – Stage I
Background
Opened in January 2002, Clearwater Resort is a five star lake-side resort on the edge of an 18-hole PGA Standard Golf Course in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Red Turtle was commissioned to create site-specific, original wall-art collections for the first 11 privately owned Villas at the Resort.

Brief
Red Turtle was commissioned to create contemporary, site-responsive original art collections, including custom wood-block prints and historic black & white photographs. The design brief required that all original artwork identify micro elements in space, reflecting organic detailing and repetitive form. All artwork and framing was created site-specific to the contemporary, relaxed colour palette.

Over a dozen unique wood-block print designs, in up to five colour-ways each, were combined with historic, regional black & white photographs to ensure the collection in each Villa retained a unique quality. In total, Red Turtle supplied over 70 limited edition framed prints, historic photographs and mirrors.

Project Architects: Architecture Warren & Mahoney, Christchurch, NZ.
Completion Date: Stage I - January 2002 / Stage II – October 2002
