Background
In May 2002 Red Turtle was invited to supply and install artwork for the Club Rooms, Junior Suites and Club Lounge undergoing refurbishment at the Hotel Inter-Continental in Wellington, New Zealand.

Designed by Sydney-based hospitality design specialists, Chhada Siembeda Australia, the two floors of ‘Club’ accommodation were a key element of the Hotel’s high profile refurbishment program.

Brief
The art commission specified a collection including prints of works by German painter Dagmar Vogt, and limited edition etchings by New Zealand artist Cynthia Taylor. A custom silver ‘Box’ framing profile and alternative presentations of art per room were required.

The final collection of 61 pieces, included a selection of four works by Dagmar Vogt alternated between standard ‘Club Rooms’, with limited Cynthia Taylor pieces distinguishing the Junior Suites. Cynthia Taylor works were also distinctively framed in deep black Shadow Box profile for the Club Lounge.
